Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes midfielder Aaron Ramsey will return to the club one day as he would be “perfect” in Mikel Arteta’s system”.

Ramsey moved to Arsenal in 2008 from Cardiff after the Gunners paid around £5million to sign him.

The Welshman went on to spend 11 years at Arsenal, winning three FA Cups in the process, before joining Juventus for free in 2019.

The 30-year-old has since won Serie A after moving to Italy and Pires believes he will be a success at Juve.

The former Arsenal midfielder, however, has also backed Ramsey to return to Emirates Stadium one day as he would suit Arteta’s style of play.

“He is very intelligent and knows how to adapt everywhere,” Pires told TuttoJuve. “Juve is a very big club and Serie A is improving him even more.

“He needs to stay a few more years and then he will return to Arsenal. It is my belief, I am not a fortune teller.

“Aaron would be perfect in Mikel Arteta’s system, but he belongs to Juve and has to stay focused on the Old Lady to win trophies.

“This year he has already won one, I hope it’s just the first in a long line.”
