Olivier Giroud believes Arsenal can achieve ‘big things’ after scoring in their 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger’s side finished the day top of the Premier League table following their latest victory at the Emirates, capping a fantastic week that also saw them defeat Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The France international found himself on the bench for the European clash in midweek, but insists he feels no hard feelings over Arsene Wenger’s selection.

“I’m always open to the idea of rotation and I never hide from it,” said Giroud.

"I knew Theo was doing well at the beginning of the season which is why I was not angry about not playing, even if it was something new for me.”

"The main thing was that he was on good form and he brought something different compared to me. We have different profiles and when he is a bit tired, I try to take the baton.

"I'm pleased to score but the boss can play with my profile or Theo's profile. It has been a few weeks of not starting and I was pleased to start.

"I feel better when I play. I missed not playing a bit more this week."

Manchester City’s goalless draw with United saw Manuel Pellegrini’s reclaim top spot, but Giroud insists that the Gunners have what it takes to go all the way this season.

"I think we are stronger mentally this year," he continued.

"We are all fighting for each other. We have a great togetherness and we want to achieve big things all together.
