Mesut Ozil celebrates Arsenal's north London derby win against Tottenham in style as the German playmaker was lauded by Gunners fans.

Ozil has been criticised for a perceived lack of effort this season as his Arsenal future remains in the balance with no contract extension agreed beyond its current expiry next summer.

But there was no hint of doubt in the 29-year-old's performance at the Emirates on Saturday as Ozil was in inspired form against Arsenal's north London rivals to help seal a 2-0 victory.

Ozil's perfectly-weighted free-kick was headed home by Shkodran Mustafi to put Arsenal in front after 36 minutes, and Alexis Sanchez handed the Gunners a decisive second just five minutes later.

The assist was Ozil's third in four Premier League gameweeks. According to Opta Sports, Ozil has provided more assists in the Premier League than any other player (45) since his debut in September 2013.

The Arsenal star took to Twitter after the match to post a celebratory dressing-room picture alongside Alexandre Lacazette, Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Granit Xhaka with the caption: "YA GUNNERS YA! Massive derby win NORTH LONDON. IS. RED. #COYG @Arsenal @premierleague".
