Arsenal have added Maribor’s young defensive starlet Petar Stojanovic to their wishlist.

Manager Arsene Wenger wants to buy more players to strengthen the back-four options in his squad and Stojanovic has caught his eye.

Scouts were sent to watch the 19-year-old right-back in action for Maribor in their 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Slovenia Under-21 international impressed up against Didier Drogba, who started the game, and also Diego Costa when he came on as a substitute for the second half.

Stojanovic is regarded as one of Slovenia’s brightest prospects and became the youngest player to make his debut for Maribor, in 2012, aged 16 years and five months.
