Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Yves Bissouma and Youri Tielemans hand Gunners boost as clubs circle for Gabriel Jesus

Marc Mayo8 June 2022

Arsenal are tipped to be among the biggest spenders in the summer transfer market.

A return to European football, although only in the Europa League, has encouraged the club to back Mikel Arteta further with Yves Bissouma, Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans all linked to the club.

It is perhaps in attack where the Gunners will begin their summer spending, after the departure of Alexandre Lacazette.

Here is our morning round-up of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours...

Yves Bissouma

Arsenal recently earned a surprise boost in their long-term interest in Yves Bissouma when the player, via Instagram, posted a fan’s call for him to partner Thomas Partey in the Gunners’ midfield.

But there appears to be a more genuine link emerging with Italian outlet CalcioMercato reporting on Arsenal being “destined” to land the Brighton star.

Roma are also said to be keen on Bissouma.

Gabriel Jesus

A number of rival clubs are reportedly getting involved in the race for Gabriel Jesus.

Real Madrid are one such team, according to The Sun, but Spanish website Cadena SER note that Los Blancos currently have their three non-EU squad slots filled. Vinicius Jr is in the process of applying for a Spanish passport to open up a space but apparent delays in that process could hold up any bid for Jesus.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are said by AS to be joining Arsenal in chasing the Brazilian, who would cost around £45million.

Youri Tielemans

Leicester playmaker Youri Tielemans opened the door to a departure from the Premier League side yesterday amid talk of a £30m move to Arsenal, ahead of his contract expiring next year.

He told reporters: “[A move] is not out of the question. I feel very good at Leicester, I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I give everything for the club until the last day.

“But of course you have to listen to other opportunities, you have to look at your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one will come my way.”
