Unwanted Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is keen to complete a mooted switch to Turkish side Galatasary.

The World Cup winner struggled throughout the 2014/15 season, falling down the pecking order at the Emirates before struggling during a loan spell at Inter Milan. Podolski found the net just once for the Nerazzurri in 18 appearances and described his spell in Serie A as a “mistake”.

Though the 30-year-old, who is amongst the highest earners at the Emirates, has said he is willing to contribute to Arsene Wenger’s side he has been told that he can find a new club, with Galatasaray leading the charge for the forward. And it seems that their interest has been reciprocated by Germany’s third highest goalscorer.

Podolski told the club’s official website: "Yes there have been meetings with Galatasaray. I hope the transfer happens. I'd love to play at Galatasaray.
