Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Scamacca fee ‘skyrockets’, Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus interest compared

Marc Mayo9 June 2022

Arsenal continue to be linked with some big-name strikers as Mikel Arteta looks to improve his frontline in this summer transfer window.

On the day of Alexandre Lacazette’s unveiling at Lyon, the Gunners are increasingly desperate to land a new attacker or two - and Sassuolo appear to recognise as much.

Italian international forward Gianluca Scamacca is seen as a top target for Arsenal amid interest in Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison closer to home.

Although, there is some certainty soon to arrive at the Emirates Stadium with Eddie Nketiah set to sign a new contract.

Here is your latest update of Arsenal transfer news and rumours...

Gianluca Scamacca

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to rival Arsenal for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Italian has declared his focus on his country’s Nations League fixtures this month before making a decision on his future.

FootMercato detail PSG’s interest, particularly if Mauro Icardi leaves the club, yet La Gazzetta dello Sport add that an initial £27million proposal from Arsenal has been rebuffed with Scamacca’s price tag “sky-rocketing” to £43m in recent weeks.

According to The Sun, Everton striker Richarlison has told the club he wants to leave after helping them beat relegation.

A fee of £65m will be demanded by the Toffees with Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid interested. However, it is noted that the Brazilian does not want to join the Gunners.

Meanwhile, transfer journalist Graeme Bailey has told the Talking Transfers Podcast that the deal is not dead yet - and he views it as even more likely than Gabriel Jesus arriving.

Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are one of five clubs pushing to sign Gabriel Jesus this summer, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The latest club to make contact are Chelsea, it is claimed, with the Brazilian described as certain to leave Manchester City for a fee of around £45m.

However, Tottenham have also been offered Jesus, as reported by The Times, ahead of the player making a decision on his preferred destination in the coming days. Real Madrid are another contender named in reports.
