Deal on: Carvalho available to Arsenal for less than his buy-out clause

Arsenal have been told they can sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho for £23.8million.

Reports in Portugal today claim Sporting have lowered their asking price in a bid to offload the 21-year-old Portugal international, who has attracted interest from several other clubs.

Carvalho is believed to have a £35.8m release clause in his contract but Sporting will now accept a lower fee, although Arsenal are yet to indicate whether they will meet the new price.
