Manchester City named an unchanged side for the visit to Arsenal as they looked to crank up the pressure on Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea.

David Silva was passed fit after an ankle problem following the rampant 3-0 win at Manchester United in midweek.

Arsenal were looking to boost their now fading title ambitions, and manager Arsene Wenger handed German forward Lukas Podolski a start following his goal in the 2-2 draw with Swansea on Tuesday night as England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain dropped to the bench.

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud. Subs: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabianski, Sanogo, Jenkinson, Kallstrom, Bellerin, Gnabry.

Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Toure, Fernandinho, Jesus Navas, Silva, Nasri, Dzeko. Subs: Lescott, Milner, Negredo, Kolarov, Javi Garcia, Pantilimon, Jovetic.
