Arsenal vs Bournemouth - player ratings

Arsenal moved top of the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bournemouth that helped put memories of their Boxing Day humiliation in the past.

Eddie Howe’s side had upset the odds against Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks and set out full of belief that they would do the same against Arsene Wenger’s side, Josh King going close early on.

However Mesut Ozil soon imposed his will on the game, crafting opportunities aplenty for his team-mates. It was Gabriel who would convert from the German’s corner, setting Arsenal on a comfortable course for three points.

The hosts were rarely threatened again with the victory, and their place at the league’s summit, confirmed when Ozil slotted in after Olivier Giroud’s delicate knock-on.

It may only last 24 hours but at last Arsenal have proven they can win when the chance to go top is on the line.
