Mike Dean will referee Saturday’s north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 49-year-old from the Wirral will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Eddie Smart for the Emirates Stadium clash on November 18, with Kevin Friend the fourth official.

Dean has taken charge of the derby clash on six previous occasions from 2007 to 2014, in which time he has handed out two red cards and 10 yellows.

He was also in charge the last time Arsenal beat Tottenham in the league, a March 2014 clash in which Tomas Rosicky scored the only goal.

Arsenal fans have not always enjoyed the best of relationships with Dean, and in September 2015 disgruntled supporters set up a petition to ban him from refereeing future Gunners games that received in excess of 100,000 signatures.

Dean had failed to book Diego Costa during a fiery 2-0 defeat for Arsenal at Chelsea in which Gabriel and Santi Cazorla saw red for the visitors.
