Alexandre Lacazette returns to Arsenal training ahead of Sheffield United clash following ankle injury

Arsenal have received a major boost ahead of Monday’s trip to Sheffield United with Alexandre Lacazette returning to full training.

The Frenchman started the season well for the Gunners, scoring two goals in his first three games, but he has been out with an ankle injury.

Lacazette has not played since the North London derby on September 1, but Arsenal confirmed on Thursday morning he is back in full training.

The striker is consequently pushing to be involved in Monday’s trip to Sheffield United, but a decision on his participation will not be made until over the weekend.

Arsenal face a busy run of fixtures next week, with Monday’s match followed up by a clash with Vitoria on Thursday before a showdown with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Lacazette, even if he doesn’t feature against Sheffield United, will hope to be involved at some point next week after over a month on the sidelines.

There was further good news for Arsenal this morning as it was confirmed Emile Smith Rowe has returned to full training and is available for selection following a collision against Nottingham Forest in Carabao Cup last month.

Forward Reiss Nelson however, as confirmed by Standard Sport last week, is out of action until November after suffering a knee injury against Standard Liege earlier this month.
