Director of high performance Darren Burgess is set to leave Arsenal after two years at the club.

Burgess joined the Arsenal coaching set-up with a strong reputation, following stints with Liverpool and Australian Rules football side Port Adelaide.

The Australian was one of a number of appointments made by former club chief executive Ivan Gazidis, who implemented a new structure at Arsenal in 2018 following the departure of boss Arsene Wenger.

The terms of Burgess’s departure are still to be finalised.

Arsenal are now set to work out their structure without Burgess. They could promote head of performance Shad Forsythe into a more senior role. The American joined the Gunners in 2014 and has been linked with a move to AC Milan.
