Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey thanks fans for sticking by him during the lows in tearful farewell

An emotional Aaron Ramsey bid farewell to Arsenal after 11 years ahead of his summer move to Juventus.

Ramsey, who played his last game against away at Napoli last month due to injury, was in the stands for Arsenal’s final home game of the season and was presented to fans following the game.

The supporters chanted “we want you to stay” as the Welshman, who will leave for nothing after failing to agree a new deal in north London, began to shed a tear on the pitch.

"I'm very emotional. It's been a hell of a journey,” Ramsey, who scored 65 goals in 371 Arsenal appearances and won three FA Cups, said. “So much has happened in that. When I look back, you can hear in my voice how much it means to me.

“I've spent so many years here. I arrived here a boy at 17 years old and I leave here a man. So much has happened so I'm very grateful for the opportunity here.

"Obviously I'm really excited for the new challenge, the new chapter in my life. Today is all about this, where I grew up, so I just want to take this in.

"There's been highs and lows, but the fans have stuck by me, so I'm very grateful."

Petr Cech, who will retire following this season but is expected to make at least one more Arsenal appearance, in the Europa League semi-final, second leg, against Valencia on Thursday, was also part of the presentation, while it was revealed Danny Welbeck will leave the club with his deal coming to an end.
