Arsenal have been urged by Invincible Lauren to pounce should Anthony Martial’s contract stand-off with Manchester United pave the way for him leaving Old Trafford.

Martial has rejected a five-year contract offer from United and his current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, though the club have a 12-month extension option that they are expected to activate.

The 22-year-old is currently in Jose Mourinho’s good books after scoring six goals in 10 Premier League appearances but Martial and his manager have endured a frosty relationship since the latter’s appointment in 2016.

Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Martial dating back to before his move to United and Arsene Wenger tried to secure the French forward as part of a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez that eventually took Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the Emirates.

“If Martial doesn’t renew his contract at Man Utd, Arsenal would be crazy not to try and snap him up,” Lauren told Sportingbet. “He’s a fantastic player and is starting to show what he can really do when given a good run of games.

"Martial won’t go anywhere without being guaranteed first team football, which I think he would get at Arsenal.”

Arsenal endured a contract stand-off of their own during the summer as they failed to agree new terms with Aaron Ramsey before eventually opting to withdraw their offer of around £170,000-a-week and inform the Welsh international he will be free to leave when his current terms expire at the end of the season.

Ramsey is coated by the likes of Juventus but Lauren believes he should follow former team-mate Jack Wilshere to the London Stadium.

“West Ham could be a great fit for Ramsey should he leave the Gunners,” he said. “He’s settled in London so he won’t want to move, but West Ham gives him the chance to get first team football whilst becoming a leader in the dressing room.

When do Arsenal players' contracts expire?

“Ramsey has been a fantastic player and role model at Arsenal, but it seems like he wants to move on now. There has been mixed messages coming out of the club and he’ll be a great asset wherever he decides to go.”
