Mesut Ozil has called on Arsenal to keep the wins coming after beating Newcastle United to go third in the Premier League table for the first time this season.

Following Tottenham's 2-1 defeat at Liverpool at the weekend, Arsenal had the opportunity to claim third place with a result against the Magpies at the Emirates on Monday night.

Unai Emery's Gunners duly delivered another home win - their 14th from 17 League games at the Emirates this season - to go two points clear of Tottenham and Manchester United in the race for Champions League qualification.

The Gunners now hold their fate in their own hands, but five of their remaining seven League games come on the road - and Emery's side have claimed just five victories from 14 away League trips this term.

But with Arsenal now sitting pretty in third place, Ozil is targeting a faultless end to the season as they attempt to clinch Champions League football.

He told Sky Sports: "Our aim is to get to the top four, so of course we are happy that we are in front of Tottenham, it's always a competition with them.

"But if we play like today, we have a few more games in front of us and we want to win, we want to take all the points to get into the top four at the end of the season."
