Olivier Giroud should be Arsenal's first-choice striker as the Gunners' struggles continue in front of goal, according to Standard Sport readers.

Arsenal were held to a goalless draw in front of their own fans in the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Hull City on Saturday, with a replay set to increase the fixture congestion for Arsene Wenger's side.

Danny Welbeck started his first game in 10 months with Theo Walcott also selected, while Giroud had to settle for a place on the bench with Alexis Sanchez also among the substitutes.

Hull kept Arsenal at bay with Eldin Jakupovic denying the hosts, while Giroud and Sanchez were unable to rescue a win after coming on in the second half.

Wenger warned his players after the game that they must be more clinical if they are to start any chance against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

With that match in mind, 41 per cent of Standard Sport readers have backed Giroud - Arsenal's top scorer this season with 18 goals in all competitions - to be the Gunners' main striker in our poll of the day.

Welbeck was next best with 30 per cent of the vote despite only just returning from a 10-month injury layoff, while Sanchez - normally a left-sided attacking midfielder - received 19 per cent of the vote having netted 10 goals this term.

Walcott has regularly spoken of his desire to lead the line for Arsenal, but finished in last place with a mere 10 per cent of the vote after scoring six times from a central role.
