Jack Wilshere has revealed his disappointment at receiving an FA misconduct charge.

The midfielder is weighing up whether to appeal after being charged for instigating an expletive-laden chant about Tottenham during Arsenal’s FA Cup victory parade eight days ago.

Wilshere was warned 12 months ago over a similar incident as the Gunners celebrated their 2014 success against Hull.

He said: “I was a little disappointed. But you know that is something the FA are dealing with and my club are dealing with so what will be, will be.”

England produced a poor display to draw 0-0 with the Republic of Ireland yesterday and Wilshere insists the players are desperate to sign off the season with a victory in Sunday’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia which would complete an unbeaten first year following last summer’s World Cup.

“All the boys want to go away and enjoy their holidays but before that we’ve got a big game,” he said. “We want to go off with a win and a good performance to keep the manager and fans happy and to keep our unbeaten run going.
