Arsene Wenger will venture back to north London frustrated that his side failed to keep their perfect Champions League qualifying record in tact.

Arsenal went into Tuesday's game against Besiktas with a flawless 12 wins from 12 in the preliminary rounds of Europe's elite club competition.

That record evaporated in 90 frustrating minutes as they laboured to a 0-0 draw with Besiktas, but Wenger will fancy the Gunners' chances in next Wednesday's return leg.

Indeed, the Frenchman will draw positives from the performance and the impending return of his German trio will only breed confidence north of the river.
