Fulham are busy negotiating a deal for Wolves winger Bakary Sako, according to his manager Kenny Jackett.

“Fulham are genuinely interested in Sako and now it is about negotiations between the two clubs,” Jackett told the Birmingham Mail.

Sako was said to have pleaded with Wolves to lower their £4million asking price, after previous negotiations between the two clubs broke down in June, but it appears the winger may yet get his desired move to the Premier League.

“As far as I know no fee has been agreed yet, but they are in negotiations,” said Jackett.

“I don’t know if it is close. The offer’s at a very high level, whether it is at a point where the powers that be at Wolves want to accept that or not is another matter.”

Sako arrived at Wolves for £2.2million from St. Etienne last summer and had a very impressive inaugural season at Molineux, but Jackett has admitted he is resigned to losing the influential 25-year-old.

“He’s not one I thought would necessarily be with us in League One at the start,’’ he said.

“He had a very good season last year and there are many naturally-gifted left-sided players around – and he certainly comes into that category, so it doesn’t surprise me there has been a lot of interest in him.”
