Ball work sinks Daggers

Dagenham and Redbridge slipped back into the League One relegation zone after last night's 2-0 defeat at home to promotion-chasing Peterborough.

After a six-game unbeaten run, Daggers have suffered two defeats in the space of three days.

Oliver Lee missed a great chance to give them a third-minute lead as he dragged his shot wide.

And the hosts quickly paid the penalty as David Ball scored twice inside the first eight minutes to take Peterborough's goal tally to 93 from 40 matches this season.

Daggers coach Terry Harris said: "You can't give the League's top scorers two early goals."
