Barcelona bid to tie up deal for Arsenal's Alex Song

15 August 2012

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu flew to London yesterday to tie up the £15million signing of Arsenal midfielder Alex Song, according to reports.

Bartomeu has now returned to Spain and is confident that the Cameroon international, 24, will complete his move in time for Barca’s first La Liga game of the season against Real Sociedad this weekend.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is willing to let Song, who has two years remaining on his contract, leave Emirates Stadium for the right price with Rennes' Yann M'Vila lined up as a replacement, the Independent reports.

Meanwhile, Blackburn want to take 28-year-old striker Marouane Chamakh on loan.
