The distaste that saw a pig's head thrown at Luis Figo on his return to Camp Nou clearly still burns strong in Catalonia.

The former Portugal star burnt his bridges in Barcelona following a controversial move to rivals Real Madrid back in 2000.

A pig's head was thrown at him on his first return to Camp Nou in Madrid's colours, as the one-time Barca favourite felt the wrath of the home fans.

But Figo was set to don the red and blue stripes of Barcelona once again this week, competing in a 'Legends' match ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against Juventus.

A 'Juve & Barca Legends' side will take on Uefa's 'World All-Stars' in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Germany on Friday evening, with Figo set to feature alongside the likes of

Edwin van der Sar, Alessandro Del Piero, Deco and Eric Abidal.

That was until Barcelona intervened...

Barcelona have confirmed that, following a complaint made to Uefa, Figo will be prevented from representing the club in Berlin.
