When can Barcelona win LaLiga title after their latest win at Alaves?

Barcelona’s 2-0 win at Alaves on Tuesday leaves the Catalans on the brink of an eighth LaLiga title in the space of 11 seasons and a 26th in total with four games still left to play.

Ernesto Valverde’s side moved provisionally 12 points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid after goals from Carles Alena and Luis Suarez at Mendizorrotza and the Catalans will be confirmed as champions if Diego Simeone’s side lose at home to Valencia on Wednesday.

If Atleti win or draw, Barca will have to wait a little longer, although not too much. A win against Levante at Camp Nou on Saturday will seal the title, whatever Atletico do in their weekend game at home to Valladolid.

And if the Rojiblancos only manage a draw at the Wanda Metropolitano versus Valencia on Wednesday, Barca will need only a point against Levante at the weekend to claim a second successive league title under Valverde.

If Atletico win against Valencia and Barca were to lose at home to Levante on Saturday, the Catalans would have three more chances to win it: away to Celta Vigo in the 36th round of LaLiga, at home to Getafe the following weekend and at Eibar on the last day of the season.

For Barca to miss out on the title altogether would take a spectacular collapse from Valverde’s side and with Levante struggling at the wrong end of the table, it would be a big surprise if the champions have not sealed another title by the weekend.
