Arsenal have completed the signing of German international goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.

Leno is joining on a deal worth £22million. The Bundesliga outfit announced the deal on Tuesday evening.

The 26-year-old is the second new arrival at Arsenal this summer, with Stephan Lichtsteiner already through the door having joined from Juventus on a free transfer. A deal for Sokratis Papastathopoulos has also been agreed with Borussia Dortmund and will be confirmed in July.

The Gunners’ new goalkeeper made over 300 appearances for Leverkusen and was the youngest goalkeeper to play in a Champions League match when turning out against Chelsea in September 2011.

A German international, Leno won the Confederations Cup last summer but missed out on Joachim Low’s World Cup squad.

Leno's arrival is expected to see either Petr Cech or David Ospina depart the club. The former has been linked with a loan move to Napoli, who had been keen to sign Leno before he joined Arsenal.
