West Ham's former home at the Boleyn Ground has continued to be knocked down - with the East Stand the first of the four stands to be demolished.

New pictures show that the stand, which used to sit adjacent to nearby Priory Park, has now gone after diggers completed the process of taking up the pitch.

Construction workers have also begun to bring down the outer parts of the stadium and are set to start work on the other stands soon after they first removed the large club crest that adorned the front of the Boleyn Ground and the iron gates that welcomed fans in October.

The Boleyn Ground was also blown up in the summer as part of the filming for Hollywood action movie Final Score, which stars Pierce Brosnan.

Property developer Barratt London began the process of knocking down Upton Park, West Ham's home for 112 years until May, on 18 September after they completed the purchase of the stadium from Galliard Homes in August.

The developer plans to build 842 homes, including 211 affordable houses, shops, a library and new cycle routes on the site while commemorating West Ham's time in the area with a new statue of Hammers legend Bobby Moore.
