Blown apart: Brazil's dream was brought crashing down in Belo Horizonte
GETTY

Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Germany’s extraordinary 7-1 thrashing of Brazil in the World Cup semi-final in Belo Horizonte.

The win was the highest margin of victory ever for a World Cup semi-final, as goals from Miroslav Klose, Thomas Muller, Sami Khedira and a brace each for Toni Kroos and substitute Andre Schurrle ensured that the hosts were eliminated in humiliating fashion.

Four goals in six first-half minutes left Brazil shell-shocked, and they faced a 5-0 deficit at half-time, with Klose breaking Brazilian Ronaldo’s record of 15 World Cup goals.

Germany march on to a final against either Argentina or the Netherlands, while the hosts will have to try and recover from the humiliation.
