Brighton stunned Manchester United with an impressive team performance as they sealed a 3-2 victory at the Amex Stadium.

Glenn Murray gave the Seagulls a shock lead with a sublime flick at the front post before Shane Duffy added a second two minutes later.

Romelu Lukaku got one back with a close-range header but Brighton soon restored their two-goal lead with Pascal Gross scoring from the penalty spot.

Paul Pogba added a late consolation from the penalty spot after Duffy had brought down Marouane Fellaini in the area but it was Brighton's day.

Jose Mourinho made two changes at half-time in an attempt to reverse his side's fortunes, throwing on Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, but the away side struggled to create any clear-cut opportunities.

Brighton maintained their shape and pressed high in the second-half, attempting to frustrate the likes of Paul Pogba, and Chris Hughton's gameplan worked a treat.

Pogba had endured a frustrating afternoon but scored a penalty deep into stoppage time after a rash challenge from Duffy on substitute Fellaini. Ultimately, it was far too little, too late for Mourinho's men.
