BT have agreed a deal with the Football Association worth in the region of £60million to become the new main sponsor of all 28 England football teams.

The five-year agreement also includes EE, owned by BT, renewing its sponsorship of Wembley Stadium and a commitment to specific grassroots investment.

The BT logo will appear on all training kit worn by the England teams including the senior sides, with the men’s team set to play their Nations League semi-final against Netherlands on Thursday and the women’s team making their final preparations for the World Cup which starts in France on Friday.

Further details of the agreement will be unveiled in due course but as yet there is no indication BT’s sponsorship will lead to England matches moving to BT Sport.

Sky Sports and ITV currently have agreements to broadcast England games until after the 2022 World Cup.

Mark Bullingham, the FA chief commercial officer who is taking over from outgoing chief executive Martin Glenn next month, said: “This is a great start to an exciting week for England football.”
