Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud took action last night to reassure concerned fans over the wellbeing of teammate Laurent Koscielny.

Koscielny, 27, was rushed to hospital during Arsenal's 3-0 away win to Fenerbahce after a collision with Fenerbahce’s Pierre Webo left him with a cut that Arsenal physio Colin Lewin described as 'horrible - one of the worst I have ever seen.'

But as this picture posted by Giroud on Instagram shows, the French centre back was smiling as the Gunners began their journey back from Istanbul.

“Some news from Lolo... He's ok no worries HE WILL BE BAAACK! #french warrior #kung-fu #stitches," posted Giroud.

Koscielny is suspended for Fulham v Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Saturday
