Reported Chelsea and Manchester United target Arda Turan has moved to quash reports suggesting he is close to joining Barcelona after the Atletico Madrid midfielder used Twitter to dismiss the claims.

Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo reported on Thursday that the Turkey international had nearly finalised a transfer to the Camp Nou, although AS claimed the 28-year-old will not complete a move to Barcelona until the club's presidential elections are finished in mid July.

However, Turan has now responded to the reports by insisting he has not agreed a deal with the Catalan giants.

"Some reports that have appeared in the press are incorrect," he wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

"I'm just on holiday and resting."

Turan is expected to leave Atletico this summer after his agent, Ahmet Bulut, confirmed the midfielder wants to play in the Premier League amid reported interest from Chelsea, United and Liverpool.

"Arda intends to leave Spain this summer and his will is to play in the Premier League," Bulut said.

"That is where he wants to take his career at this time."
