Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho became embroiled in a row with West Brom defender Jonas Olsson in the tunnel after the Blues’ 2-2 draw with West Brom at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The Portuguese tactician was accused of labelling Olsson a “Mickey Mouse player”, after the Swede vented his fury at referee Andre Mariner’s decision to award Chelsea a late penalty, which was converted by Belgian winger Eden Hazard to earn the West London side a controversial draw.
The 30-year-old was then alleged to have told Mourinho to “f**k off” in response to the Mickey Mouse remark, and this led to a brief ruckus between the players before stewards intervened in the tunnel.
The incident occurred just moments after referee Andre Mariner had awarded Chelsea a 94th-minute penalty when Ramires went down in the box under a challenge from Steven Reid.
Olsson and his team-mates such as Gareth McAuley had protested furiously with the match official after deciding to award the penalty, despite replays showing there was only minimal contact between Ramires and Reid in the box.
Clearly incensed by the decision, Olsson had already confronted Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on the way back to the centre circle, as well as Mariner at the final whistle.
Tempers flared as the players headed back to the dressing room and further reports suggest that Liam Ridgewell and West Brom assistant Kevin Keen were also involved in a scuffle with the match stewards, although it appears that no action will be taken against any player with the FA yet to comment on the incident.
