Standard Sport brings you the top lines from across the footballing world as transfer talk in regards to the January transfer window begin to circulate.

Although the current campaign is still in its infancy, the rumour mill has already clicked into place and plenty of clubs in the Premier League appear to be preparing to dip their toe into the market.

Yesterday we saw Alexis Sanchez linked with a sensational move to Real Madrid, only for the Chile international to clear up any speculation and declare that his future lies with the Gunners.

While the forward's words might have had Arsene Wenger sighing with relief yesterday, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could be excused for shaking his head back earlier in the summer.

Reports suggest that the Blues launched an offer for Anthony Martial in an attempt to hijack Manchester United's recent deal for the Frenchman, only for the teenager to opt for Old Trafford ahead of Stamford Bridge.

Had Martial moved to west London, Mourinho's side might not be languishing in the lower reaches of the Premier League given the impact he has made since his arrival in the top flight.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are reported to be interested in Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez.

The Spaniard's agent has hinted that the striker wants to play more and urged Los Blancos to make a decision on his future.

With a stellar front line at Rafa Benitez's disposal, chances might be few and far between for the 22-year-old.

Porto midfielder Ruben Neves has attracted a fair bit of attention this term due to his impressive performances not only in Portugal but also the Champions League.

Standard Sport understands that Chelsea will try to sign the teenager next summer, but it looks like they will have competition from Merseyside.

Liverpool are said to be long-term admirers of the deep-lying midfielder and will compete with the Blues to secure the 18-year-old's signature.
