Chelsea duo Tammy Abraham and Thiago Silva have returned to training during the international break in a boost for Thomas Tuchel ahead of the Premier League run-in.

The Blues have plenty to play for across the final stretch of the season, kicking things back off against Crystal Palace this weekend.

The German manager has got Chelsea back into the hunt for the top four, sitting two points clear of fourth-placed West Ham, while also reaching the FA Cup semi-finals and a date with Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Abraham has been struggling with ankle problems for more of 2021 and has not played since February having suffered setbacks in training.

Veteran defender Silva has also not played since February having suffered a thigh problem. The Brazilian was named on the bench against Everton but himself suffered a small setback.

Asked about Abraham earlier this month, Tuchel said: "Honestly I'm a bit concerned because it's still the pain from the tackle against Burnley, so we're talking about a long time now where he does not really feel 100 per cent free and comfortable; I can see it in training.

"Even if he finishes training, I see that it's not 100 per cent, that he has trust or feels totally free.

"So yeah, I'm a bit concerned but at the same time I have 100 per cent trust in our medical department, those guys are fantastic and they take care of him now.

"First of all, it's most important he feels safe, free, and zero pain, and then we can think about his comeback."

Tuchel will have a keen eye on England's final game of this international break with Mason Mount having suffered what is being described as a 'minor' issue with the Three Lions.

Mount - a key man for club and country - has started both of England's games so far but was not involved in group training on Tuesday.
