Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Raheem Sterling latest, Ousmane Dembele decision and Gabriel Jesus offer

Jonathan Gorrie10 June 2022

Chelsea are entering unknown territory.

While no stranger to spending big during the summer transfer window, it is the first time the club will conduct their business without the deep pockets of Roman Abramovich.

Although Todd Boehly is expected to back Thomas Tuchel during his fist foray into the market, few would doubt the fact the club have a huge task ahead.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have already left and there are doubts over the futures of Romelu Lukaku, Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Already behind on their transfer business due to the takeover saga, it’s going to need to be a very busy few weeks for Chelsea.

Here’s latest transfer news and rumours.

Raheem Sterling

There is a growing feeling Raheem Sterling could be allowed to leave Manchester City this summer, write Standard Sport’s Malik Ouzia and Simon Collings.

Tuchel is keen on attacking signings this summer after a difficult season for his frontline and Chelsea are interested in a move for the England international, who is entering the final 12 months of his deal at the Etihad.

Marc Cucurella

With Alonso confirming his desire to leave Stamford Bridge and return to Spain this summer, Tuchel could be pressed into action and recruit a new left wing-back.

Indeed, having seen just how damage Ben Chilwell’s injury caused his team last season, it would seem foolish not to try and strengthen.

To that end, Chelsea are - according to Goal - one of a few teams keen on a move for Brighton’s Marc Cucurella.

They, along with Tottenham and Manchester City, are thought to be casting keen eyes over the £45m-rated defender.

Jules Kounde

By now, Chelsea fans must be bored of links to Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

A leading target in the summer of 2021, the Spanish club stood firm on their valuation of the French international, who is Tuchel’s top target to boost his depleted defence.

Fabrizio Romano now claims the deal is still a priority for the west London giants and a fee of around £55m could be enough to finally get a move over the line.

Ousmane Dembele

As one of the most high-profile free agents on the market this summer, Ousmane Dembele is likely to have plenty of offers.

Linked with both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, French outlet Le1sport now claim the 2018 World Cup winner has opted for a move to Stamford Bridge.

Dembele worked with Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund and, despite a largely frustrating time in Barcelona, proved his worth last season.

No one contributed more assists (13) and the idea of him plying his trade in the Premier League is an exciting one.

Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal and Tottenham are both keen on a move for Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, who looks set to leave the club this summer.

Standard Sport, however, understand the Brazilian HAS been offered to Chelsea.

Jesus’ representatives are exploring all options available to him this summer, with the Brazilian sounding out a number of clubs before making any decision over his future.

City are hoping to recoup around £50million by selling the forward and that fee would price out the majority of his potential suitors beyond the Premier League.
