Chelsea injury boost as Thibaut Courtois and Pedro in contention to face West Ham

Chelsea have been boosted by the news that Thibaut Courtois and Pedro could return for the club's London derby clash against West Ham this weekend.

Courtois has not featured for Chelsea since the 3-0 Champions League loss away to Barcelona in March after suffering a hamstring injury in training.

The 25-year-old still went away on international duty with Belgium but was forced to return early to work on his fitness.

Pedro, meanwhile, missed Chelsea's 3-1 defeat at home to Tottenham on Sunday with a "physical problem" but is back in contention.

Antonio Conte confirmed to reporters on Friday that the pair "could" return to action for the Premier League match, but ruled out defender David Luiz and midfielder Ethan Ampadu.

Luiz is out for a further few weeks as he continues to recover from a knee injury that has seen him sidelined since February 5, when he started Chelsea's 4-1 loss away to Watford.

Ross Barkley, who has been recovering from a hamstring injury, could be back in Chelsea's matchday squad after coming through a development team game against Derby County last weekend.
