Chelsea loanee Tomas Kalas says he is eager to stay at Fulham even if the Cottagers do not make it into the Premier League next season.

Kalas has been a regular in the Fulham side that can secure a playoff berth with a victory over Brentford on Saturday, making 34 appearances in the Championship this season.

The 23-year-old’s contract at Chelsea expires at the end of next season and, having made just two senior appearances for his parent club, Kalas believes staying at Craven Cottage would be the “perfect scenario” for him.

“We're in touch with Fulham and Chelsea and we're sorting out my situation for next season,” he told BBC Radio London.

“Getting promoted would help, but anyway, everyone knows that I'd like to stay, not because I wouldn't like to play anywhere else but because I'm playing every game and that's all I need.

“I'm living in an area I know, so right now it's perfect scenario for me to stay.”

Meanwhile Kalas’ manager Slavisa Jokanovic is convinced that the west London derby will not be Fulham’s final game of the season as he eyes a play-off berth for the Cottagers.

Fulham have two games in which to achieve the three points that will guarantee them playoff football barring a 13 goal swing towards Leeds.

However he knows that the visit of Brentford will not be an easy test for his in-form side, who have won their last four games, scoring at least three goals in each.

“I have enough experience in this Championship, I know that easy games and easy wins don’t exist in this competition. We must be ready for everything.

“We have a great chance in front of us and we must be confident and concentrated enough, ready enough, to push hard and try to find this final step in the regular part of the season.

“It’s two games [left] and we’re going to arrive with the mentality to make this step tomorrow afternoon. I expect it’s not our last game at Craven Cottage, I expect we are going to play one game more at home.”
