Eden Hazard believes he will be fit to face Tottenham on Saturday despite injuring his ankle playing for Belgium last night.

The Chelsea midfielder was kicked by Newcastle’s Cheik Tiote just minutes after coming on as a substitute during the 2-2 draw with Ivory Coast.

Hazard was able to play on after receiving treatment but was clearly affected as he had little impact on the game.

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots said: “Eden’s stocking was broken and his ankle was swollen. Such things happen in top-level football.”

Hazard tried to calm fears over the injury and said: “It hurt but I think I can play this weekend. After 20 seconds I got a kick. A nice welcome but I’m not worried.”
