Chelsea midfielder Ramires has joined Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, the club announced on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old joined the Blues from Benfica in 2010 but has struggled for game time this season.

The Brazil international has made just 12 Premier League appearances this season, five of which have been as a substitute.

Ramires signed a new contract with the Blues as recently as last October but has left Stamford Bridge after five years at the club.

In a statement on the club's website on Wednesday, Chelsea thanked Ramires for his time at the club.

It read: "We thank him for his service and wish him well in China, where he will be coached by another former Blue, Dan Petrescu."

Speaking after his extension had been agreed last year he said: "I hope to be an important part of many more successes in the next four years."

Jiangsu finished ninth in China's top tier last season and are currently managed by former Chelsea defender Petrescu.

Ramires won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League during his spell in west London.
