Sam Kerr has warned Chelsea Women’s rivals they are hungry for more trophies as they target a possible quadruple.

The Australian scored a hat-trick as the Blues dismantled Bristol City at Vicarage Road yesterday to win the League Cup and secure their first silverware of the season.

Intent on establishing themselves as European football’s dominant force, Chelsea are aiming for a clean sweep of trophies in what could be an historic season under Emma Hayes.

The Blues are top of the WSL, into the quarter-finals of the Champions League — where they face German club Wolfsburg this month — and also targeting success in the FA Cup.

“Emma put up on the board [before the game] how many trophies we could win and this was one we wanted to tick off,” said Kerr.

“So we are not stopping here. We will enjoy it, but on Monday we turn back to the WSL. For us, it is about winning everything we can and we are not going to stop until it is the last game of the season. Hopefully, we can pick up as many trophies as we can.”

Chelsea were a class above their opponents and have now won nine trophies since Hayes took over in 2012.

Fran Kirby had a hand in all six goals, scoring twice herself in an outstanding display.

Kerr told BT Sport: “Fran has been doing that all season. She has been unbelievable all year and whenever she gets the ball whoever is playing up front knows she is going to put it on a plate for us. She is a quality player.

“She is easy to play with. I know exactly what she is going to do. She is quality on the ball, I can trust her on the ball. She is a special talent. I feel lucky that I get to play with these amazing players every day. You can see every game that we play we are getting more and more cohesive.”

A brilliant day for Chelsea was marred late on when Norwegian defender Maren Mjelde was carried off on a stretcher with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

Hayes said: “It is a bittersweet moment. Maren’s a huge person in our dressing room. She is the mother hen, the person that everybody looks up to. I am devastated. I hope she is okay. I know it is a bad one, but that win is for her.”
