Michy Batshuayi is anxiously waiting to see if Everton will match Chelsea’s £35million asking price to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi is currently on a season-long loan at Valencia, but the La Liga club want to cut it short after he struggled to make an impression.

Everton are keen to sign the Belgium international, but they can’t loan the forward as they have already acquired Kurt Zouma on a season-long deal from Chelsea.

Time is running out for Everton to find the funds to buy the 25-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Marseille for £33.2m in 2016.

It is understood that West Ham have made an inquiry over a loan, but Batshuayi would prefer a permanent switch to Everton.

Batshuayi was still in Spain on Thursday morning so he would have to travel soon in order to undergo a medical and agree personal terms in time.
