Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has revealed he wants to play for Paris Saint-Germain during his career.

The Frenchman is set to return to Stamford Bridge after a mixed year on loan at AC Milan, which ended in a falling out with the now departed manager Gennaro Gattuso.

Bakayoko endured a rough first season in west London after joining from Monaco in 2017 and was sent out on loan following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last summer.

The 24-year-old was born in Paris and made no attempt to hide his desire to play in his home city.

“Yes, for sure, one day I would like to play in Paris," he told L'Equipe.

"I cannot lie about it. It’s big for me and my loved ones. We are real Parisians.”

Brother and agent Abdoulaye added that they were not short of interest in the midfielder, but was insistent that for now their focus is on Chelsea.

“We receive phone calls every day," he said. "It’s due to his good season this year in Milan.

"But we must think about the best project. And for now, the best project is Chelsea. He knows, we are at home. You just have to start the season as well as you can and see what it’s like. But that does not stop us from listening to the proposals.”
