Christian Pulisic will make his competitive debut for Chelsea at Manchester United on Sunday.

The USA international was signed from Borussia Dortmund for £57.6m in January, but only joined the Chelsea squad this summer because he spent the second half of last season on loan at the Bundesliga club.

Pulisic, who scored twice in a friendly against Red Bull Salzburg a fortnight ago, will start on the left flank.

Following David Luiz’s departure, coach Frank Lampard will pair Kurt Zouma alongside Andreas Christensen in central defence, while Olivier Giroud is favourite to lead the line.

Willian (hamstring) and Antonio Rudiger (knee) aren’t fit yet after injury, while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (both Achilles tendon) are still sidelined.

Predicted starting XI: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Emerson, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Pedro, Ross Barkley, Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud
