Chelsea yet to receive any transfer bids or loan offers for Danny Drinkwater

Simon Johnson23 January 2019

Chelsea have not received any concrete offers from any club for midfielder Danny Drinkwater – loan or permanent transfers - Standard Sport understands.

Drinkwater, who signed from Leicester for £35million in 2017, has played just 30 minutes for the Blues and that was in the Community Shield five months ago.

Sarri has made it clear that the 28-year-old is not in his plans and can leave should he agree a move elsewhere.

The England international has been subject of a few minor inquiries, but no-one has come close to making a bid.

Drinkwater is paid in excess of £100,000-a-week and that is proving a major stumbling block as no-one is willing to pay that sum yet for someone that has played just 23 times since May 2017.

The former Man United trainee has struggled with thigh, groin and calf injuries over that period.

However, he has been fully fit for the majority of this season and always trains with the senior squad.
