Eden Hazard believes Gonzalo Higuain has the ability to score on a regular basis for Chelsea after the striker opened his account against Huddersfield.

The 31-year-old, who arrived on loan from Juventus in January, bagged a brace as Maurizio Sarri's side thrashed the Premier League's bottom club 5-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The pair linked up well superbly in attack and Hazard was involved in the build-up for Higuain's second goal, a stunning curling effort from 25 yards.

And the Belgian thinks it's only a matter of time before the Argentinian becomes a regular feature on the scoresheet.

"We try to work with each other, Higuain is a new player but he knows what the manager wants," he told the Premier League.

"He is a great striker and he can score a lot of goals. England is different than Italy and Spain but he has that ability. If [Olivier] Giroud or I play as a striker, we always try and help each other."

Hazard also scored twice, netting from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time before scoring a brilliant solo effort in the second half, as the Blues bounced back from a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was one of the players reportedly singled out for criticism by his manager but Hazard believes the Blues responded in the right manner with their biggest victory since November 2016.

"I always say when we lose a game, we need to win the game after and we did well today," he added.

Hazard makes it 3-0 with his second of the afternoon.

"We played one of the best games of our season and scored five great goals. The fans were not happy on Wednesday and now they are so we are happy. We want to keep playing like this, like the manager wants.

"I think he (Sarri) will be happy, because he was wanting a reaction from us and we gave him one."
