Alvaro Morata admitted the Chelsea team are relishing the Premier League title race this season after the champions beat Leicester 2-1 on Saturday.

Morata scored his third Premier League goal in four games at the King Power Stadium after he headed in Cesar Azpilicueta's cross in the 41st minute.

The Spaniard has hit the ground running since leaving European champions Real Madrid for the Premier League holders this summer and, following the victory in Leicester, Morata admitted the Blues are keeping their sights firmly set on moving into first position in the table.

"It is important to win here," Morata told Sky Sports. "Always against Leicester at this stadium it is very difficult to win. We were in a good position at 2-0 but suffered to the end. This is the Premier League.

"I am good but the most important thing is we are not in the first places and we look forward to moving ahead in the table."

N'Golo Kante was also on the scoresheet against Leicester - the club he left for Chelsea in 2016 - after he drove in a low shot past Kasper Schmeichel in the 50th minute.

The Frenchman was given a warm reception from the Foxes fans while he warmed up pre-match, and Kante admitted his respect for the Leicester supporters was the reason why he chose not to celebrate his goal on Saturday.

He told BBC Sport: "It is always special to play my old team. I had an amazing year here but when I come I try to win and today was important and I am happy to score.

"It is always a pleasure to score but I keep it inside (his celebration) because I want to respect my old team.

"It was a tough game. They had a lot of chances but we fight and had some chances but we won and that is the most important thing."
