Diego Costa would be "well received" at Atletico Madrid should the Chelsea striker return to Vicente Calderdon this summer, says Saul Niguez.

The striker continues to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge but reiterated after the FA Cup Final that his only possible destination would be former club Atletico.

Saul, who spent two years in the Diego Simeone's first team alongside Costa, pointed to a familiarity as being key why it could be a good move for both parties.

"He knows the place, we know him, and he would not take long to fit into the play of Atletico Madrid," Saul told AS.

Saul pointed to Koke, the midfield star who has just signed a new long-term contract at the club, as evidence that world-class performers can have their expectations met at the club.

He continued: "Koke could have earned much more money [at another club] but he prefers to be happy.

"When you are wearing the jersey that you love, and are getting playing time, in the end you value that much more than other things."
