Jose Mourinho is favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job after Saturday's 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

The Portuguese manager helped the Blues clinch their fourth title in May but, just five months later, his stock has tumbled after a disappointing start to the season.

The Blues have won just three of their opening 10 games this term and are languishing in 15th place in the Premier League table.

Tim Sherwood parted ways with Aston Villa this morning which has paved the way for Mourinho to be installed as the front runner in the sack race.

“Mourinho is in real danger of getting the boot, he needs things to change and quickly,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

The Chelsea boss is available at 5/4 to be the next manager in England's top tier to go while Newcastle chief Steve McClaren, whose side were beaten 3-0 by fierce rivals Sunderland earlier today, is next on 6/1.

Garry Monk's Swansea side may have effectively sealed Sherwood's fate with a 2-1 win at Villa Park this weekend but the Englishman is third favourite to be given the chop with odds of 8/1.
