Marcos Alonso says he "feels sorry" for Hector Bellerin after colliding with his countryman during Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Arsenal.

The Blues secured a crucial win against their rivals with Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas on target prior to Olivier Giroud's consolation header.

The opening goal arrived in controversial fashion as Alonso clattered into Bellerin before guiding a header past Petr Cech, prompting Arsene Wenger to claim the challenge amounted to a foul during his post-match comments.

Bellerin had to be substituted after receiving medical treatment but Alsono is adamant he did not foul the Gunners defender and was not even aware Bellerin was also jumping for the ball alongside him.

Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal: Wenger claims first goal was a foul

"I jumped a bit higher and got to the ball first, I didn’t even see him coming so I don’t think it’s a free-kick," Alonso told Chelsea's official website.

"I feel sorry for him, he’s a good friend but I didn’t see him. I hope he’s okay.

"I’m happy for another three points, we played a very good game, we were consistent and we need to keep going," he added.

Arsenal host Hull City next weekend and Bellerin's failure to return in time to face the Tigers will represent a blow for Wenger, whose side have fallen 12 points off the title pace.

Chelsea, meanwhile, travel to Burnley and have been warned by Michael Keane not to expect an easy game at Turf Moor.
