Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has dismissed claims by former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly that he wants to win the Premier League title this season as revenge for being sacked by the Blues 12 years ago.

Desailly said this week he belives Ranieri got his revenge on Chelsea in December when his current side Leicester beat the Blues 2-1 at the King Power Stadium, which led to Jose Mourinho - the man who replaced Ranieri at Chelsea in 2004 - being dismissed from the club.

The Foxes are on course to win their first ever Premier League title this season, and could celebrate their historic win at the home of reigning champions Chelsea in the last game of the season.

But Ranieri has insisted his desire to claim the top-flight crown this term is driven purely by his winning mentality and not by a desire to get back at Chelsea and show them he should not have been sacked by the club for Mourinho.

When asked about Desailly's comments, the Leicester boss said: "He is wrong. I want to win because I want to win, but not for revenge.

"I don't have revenge in my life. I am a very lucky man. I am doing the job that I want to do and not too many people can do this.

"It is not for revenge. Revenge is stupid. You can talk about revenge when you lose to one team and you want revenge, but not this kind of revenge."
